Where Slow Food and Whole Food Meet is the second cookbook I’ve been lucky to have been a part of. It’s a great initiative for raising money for the Second Harvest Food Bank in Central Florida. I know that’s not exactly Canada, but I do Trick or Eat every year, I volunteer for The Stop Community Food Centre, and I used to volunteer at the food bank at uOttawa. Needless to say, I am very passionate about food security and ensuring that everyone has access to nutritious food. We live in a world where we export the majority of our lentils (Canada’s top producing export) when people should learn how to cook with it and eat it because it’s known to be such a great source of iron, protein, and fibre. So no matter whether we’re in the US, Canada, or even Brazil, I think everyone should have access to nutritious and healthy food.
The cookbook is on sale on Amazon and is listed at $22.99. Please go buy a copy because all proceeds will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank! Christine and Jennifer have worked their butts off to coordinate this amazing initiative and I’m so proud to be a part of this gorgeous collection of recipes. Not all of them are vegan, but there are a good chunk of vegetarian-friendly ones in there.
Check out this video below about the cookbook, and for other recipes contributed by the other bloggers. My soup is a Spiced Lentil Stew. Enjoy, and please buy the book!
