If I had to choose between creamy vanilla ice cream or a sweet and tart sorbet, I almost always choose the sorbet. I guess when you’re vegan, the sorbet is often more available to you anyway. That doesn’t mean I don’t love a good soy chocolate ice cream every now and then, but I just find the fresh flavour of real fruits more satisfying on the palate.
The best way to get the most fresh tasting flavour is to use freshly squeezed grapefruit juice. There’s alcohol in this recipe but that’s just what I used to lubricate the ice crystals so they don’t form jagged, unappetizing chunks that would render this sorbet unpleasant. I used Triple-Sec because of it’s orange flavour, but feel free to use your favourite splash of vodka or bourbon too

I hope you have a lovely weekend =)

Wow!!! This is SO beautiful!! I’m usually a fan of the vegan ice-creams with all sorts of chunks of delicious chocolate, cookie dough, nuts, or whatever but this is just so purdy, I want it now :)

Thanks Sam ^_^ I love ice creams with nuts too. Actually I used to love Kawartha Dairy’s Moose Tracks before I went vegan. Chocolate swirls with peanut butter cups in vanilla ice cream. Delicious!
